I hate making mistakes!

Excuse me while I gnash my teeth and kick walls or some such thing .. FECK!  My plans tonight consisted of watching tv and finishing the 2nd yoga sock - I left off last night with only having to do 3 rows of ribbing.   I was pretty happy bout having this done.

Finished binding off, admired my pretty sock, and then placed it next to the first one ... bloody feckn hell - WTH did I do wrong???  They truly look like two separate orphans from different families - hell different countries even.  ARGH

I'm so ticked at myself.  I knew I messed up the ribbing on the first sock with only doing 5 rows of ribbing instead of 10 - ok - no worries, pick up and rib the needed 5 rows.  But this .. pfft .. this is gonna need more than 5 rows of ribbing LOL  ARGH!!!!!

Needless to say, frog stitch time for the 1st sock.  Mayhaps the 2nd one too.  I did make a measurement mistake on the top, but figured I could live with that and just reproduce it in the 2nd .. ya oh kay .. that worked out just fine .. pfft  I was going to make all corrections in the 2nd pair I make for myself in the Cyan yarn

I want to get one sock down pat before I do the pair my friend wants.  So froggy stitch time - here I come and bind on 64 stitches for the upmtenth time for these socks.

Gotta love tools!!

While I still love my Vogue Knitting book, and it's been my go to reference for over 20 years (yes, I said 20 years), I LOVE the internet for the various videos and quick image references, and ravelry of course.

When I was struggling with casting on stitches in the middle of my work, I wasn't able to find what I was looking for in my book, so off to google I went.  I was lucky to find a video on crochet cast on that worked like a charm.  It was short . I'm not known for having a lot of patience to listen to a long winded explanation - my attitude is, get to the bloody point and show me what I want, and this one did show me that and I was able to get back to work :D  yay me!!!!

It had also been so long since I had to do any sort of knit math, that I was rather at a loss and didn't trust my formula, so back to google I went and found 2 calculators to figure the increases and decreases (on the same site even)

Needless to say, I'm happy with the results and am feeling great confidence in my work.  I've already got the increases, cast off, cast on for the 'heel' section and decreases, and am on my way to the pattern part for the final 'leg' - pun intended LOL

I had a yearning!

Yes it's been quite a while since I've been here, figured it was time to say hello - So hello blog world :)

I've been having this strong urge for the past week to knit.  I kept looking at this pattern and I knew I had 2 skeins each of Paton's Kroy socks yarn - one in Mulberry and another in Cyan Stripes.  I've rather been losing my mind with being off work since October due to back issues, I figured it'd be good therapy for me to do something creative.  I can't quilt since I can't bend over my cutting table, and cutting fabric while sitting down just isn't going to happen - not if I want to do accurate cuts.  So instead of continuing to feel sorry for myself - I opted to knit.

I picked these because sometimes my feet get a bit cold while doing yoga and this is the perfect way to not slip.

So far so good - a few re-learning curves stumbled into and solved.  I have to go back and try and pick up the stitches at the beginning of the first sock as I did 5 rnds of P1 K1 ribbing instead of 10.  I'm pretty sure I can figure out a way to pick them up and make the socks the same - although I might frog the sock as I mussed up the pattern stitch in the first half of the sock.  Granted I'll be the only one that sees it, all depends on how my OCD handles it.  Prolly not so to well as I keep eyeing it LOL

I keep hoping to find my US 3 circs as I prefer knitting on circ rather than DPN.  Only issues is half my knitting / quilting stuff is packed and I've no idea what box it's in.  It was hard enough to find the right yarn box!

A friend of mine saw my pic on fb and is interested in a pair  She offered to pay for the yarn and labour.  I just have to figure out how to figure that out.  This lady is the first one that introduced me to yoga so I'm tempted to just gift them to her - if she'll accept.  We'll see.
